Toro Canyon House
(Montecito, CA)
The homeowner is a respected California contemporary architect who was looking to integrate an aesthetic high power solar solution into his own showcase home in the foothills of Santa Barbara. The first of many hurdles during the installation process came with educating the county staff about the unique differences of a SunPower® Equinox™ panel. Another hurdle was working with SunPower® engineers to integrate the Equinox™ modules into a three phase 600 amp electrical panel; the Equinox™ product was so new it had never been done before. After 9 weeks of permitting, which included full structural and electrical engineering, this beautiful system was completed.
